Got a stash of money to throw around but over the whole brick-and-mortar thing? Here’s a solution for you. You can invest in a load of stunning woodland in Yorkshire instead.
As luck would have it, the beloved Goit Stock Wood in Bingley, West Yorkshire has just gone up for sale for £350,000. And we’re already jealous of whoever will get to call this green haven their own.
The largely unspoilt wood is open to the public and stretches across almost 70 acres. Within it are birch, oak, sycamore and beech trees, as well as a host of wildlife, including deer. The beauty spot has even been listed as an area of ecological and geological importance by Bradford Council.
According to the listing, the woodland was ‘carved out during the last ice age and the differential weathering of the grit stone and shales has led to the creation of a number of waterfalls.’ The most impressive of these is the 20-feet-tall cascading Goit Stock waterfall.
Andrew Black, director in the rural agency team at Savills in York, said: ‘It is likely to be of interest to those seeking property with high landscape, amenity and conservation value and we anticipate its beauty and tranquillity will capture the hearts of many interested parties.’
