Fancy getting your fill of blooms in one go this spring? Arundel Castle in West Sussex has got just the ticket.

From April until early May, the medieval castle is putting on its own Tulip Festival featuring a display of more than 100,000 blooms, painting the grounds all sorts of vibrant hues. It will include 120 different types of tulip, from the purple Passionale to the Flaming Spring Green.

To mark King Charles III’s coronation in May, the castle’s steep bank has already been planted with 10,000 Oxford red tulips, while the spiralling Labyrinth garden is now home to more than 14,000 King’s Blood tulips.

Martin Duncan, Arundel Castle’s head gardener, said: ‘Our team has worked around the clock over the winter to create a beautiful display of tulips that will delight visitors of all ages. We invite everyone to come and see the amazing display of colours and hues that the tulips will bring. It really will be a spectacular display of nature at its finest, and you will truly be able to immerse yourself in the vibrant colours of spring.’

Due to uncertainty over when exactly the bulbs will bloom, prospective visitors should check Arundel Castle’s website or social media pages to check the status of the festival’s flowers to avoid disappointment.

Tickets for adults are £14 and £6.50 for children (under-fives go for free). You can book here.
