It’s been about ten years since peak One Direction mania swept the word, infecting teenagers and their mothers alike without mercy. You might think that Harry Styles’ era of domination has gracefully slowed, that he may no longer be quite the zeitgeist he once was. If you had assumed this then you, dear reader, don’t spend enough time on the internet.

This isn’t fanfiction. This isn’t your dream journal from back when you were 12. There is an actual job currently being advertised where you can earn actual Great British Pounds to talk about Harry Styles all day.

The singer grew up in Holmes Chapel, a small village south of Manchester. It has become a pilgrimage for Harries – which is how his fans refer to themselves – and the town wants to take advantage of its popularity by offering official Harry Styles tours.

Holmes Chapel has multiple spots which are significant in the real-life-Styles-lore, including the bakery where he worked before his fame, and the bridge under which he had his first kiss. Pretty unromantic for one of the most sought after men in the world. Reminds you he’s just like the rest of us – uncool at heart.

But maybe you already knew all of that. Maybe you have encyclopaedic knowledge of Harry’s career, from the song he auditioned for the X-Factor with to the modern day wig conspiracies. Maybe you’re also personable, confident at public speaking, and local to Crewe. If that’s the case, you might be the perfect person for the job.

The job listing was posted to Facebook by the Holmes Chapel Partnership, which announced it is seeking ‘knowledgeable and enthusiastic individuals’ who possess ‘excellent communication and storytelling skills, the ability to lead and manage groups of [up to 16 people]’. As well as, obviously, a love for Harry Styles.

Anyone over the age of 16 can apply, but they ensure that ‘more senior’ applicants are welcome, so if your nan is passionate about ‘Watermelon Sugar’ and explaining the story behind ‘Carolina’, she’s in with just as much of a shot as anyone else.

Applications are being accepted until April 15, and the tours start this June. If you think you could find your way back to Harry’s House you can check out the full listing and apply here. Good luck, Harries!
