Rom-com godhead, English national treasure and bone-dry social media presence, Hugh Grant is a man of many gifts. And he’s just had ‘hotel decor’ added to his role of honour.
One intrepid TikTok-er has stumbled upon a suite in a south coast hotel that is wall-to-wall in posters from Grant’s filmography. This trove of foppish wish-fulfilment is to be found in Bournemouth’s Hotel Celebrity.
The small suite, a particularly posh version of that Star Wars trash compactor, is currently being refurbished. Hugh Grant completists will once again be able to nod off beneath the watchful eye of Music and Lyrics's Alex Fletcher or Notting Hill’s William Thacker next year.
The hotel has 60 bedrooms, each dedicated to a different film star or celebrity. If Grant is not your cup of tea, there are rooms for Tom Holland or, well, Ken Dodd fans too. ‘Tom Holland is one of the most recent stars, but we’re catering for older guests as well,’ says Hotel Celebrity’s general manager.
