Kristen Stewart’s Sundance-endorsed new noir thriller, ‘Love Lies Bleeding’, will be kicking off this year’s Glasgow Film Festival next month.
The festival’s full programme has just been announced and the ‘Spencer’ star’s new LGBTQ+ noir, directed by ‘Saint Maud’ filmmaker Rose Glass, will be just one of the highlights on a juicy-looking line-up when it all kicks off on February 28.
It all wraps up on March 10 with the world premiere of ‘Janey’, a sure-to-be-poignant documentary that follows Scottish stand-up Janey Godley ‘as she embarks on her final live tour following her cancer diagnosis’.
Other crackers to look out for include ‘La Chimera’, Alice Rohrwacher’s dark-edged picaresque starring Josh O’Connor, Léa Seydoux and George MacKay co-starring in the much-praised sci-fi ‘The Beast’, and Luna Carmoon’s unique, brilliant debut ‘Hoard’ with Hayley Squires and Joseph Quinn.
UK premieres include real-life dad-and-daughter Ewan and Clara McGregor in road-trip movie ‘Bleeding Love’, Cynthia Erivo-starring refugee drama ‘Drift’, and Viggo Mortensen western ‘The Dead Don’t Hurt’.
The 12-day fest boasts 69 UK premieres and films representing 44 countries.
The historic film fest – Scotland’s largest – runs from February 28-March 10 at the Glasgow Film Theatre. Head to the official site for all the info on tickets, dates and films.
