Have you ever been to Canada? Given the lack of truly affordable flights out to that wild, wild country, maybe the answer is no. But now a new low-cost airline has launched – and tickets start at just £169.
The Icelandic carrier, PLAY, has slashed prices as part of its launch sale, with flights departing from London Stansted or Liverpool John Lennon for Toronto’s John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport. But there is one small snag: each flight will involve a 70 to 80-minute layover in Reykjavik.
Birgir Jónsson, CEO of PLAY, said: ‘I am excited to be able to offer more people the opportunity to travel between North America, Iceland and Europe at affordable prices. Toronto, with its population of approximately eight million, will greatly expand our market reach.’
The flights to Toronto will depart from London five times a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) and from Liverpool twice a week (Thursday and Sunday). The trips start at the end of June. You can find out more here.
