When it comes to planning a holiday in the UK, there are all kinds of accommodation options, from city hotels and picturesque campsites to uber-convenient Airbnbs. What the Britain isn’t quite so full of, however, is luxury treehouses.
If a luxury treehouse sounds right up your tree (get it?), we’ve just the thing. ‘Treehouse specialists’ TreeDwellers have just opened a set of deluxe treehouse lodges in an ancient Cotswolds forest – and they look every bit as spectacular as they sound.
TreeDwellers’ lodges were announced last year but now they’re officially open to the public. Fashioned out of timber, copper and glass, they’re designed to complement the organic curves of the surrounding forest. Sitting three metres above the forest floor, there are seven of them ranging in size with one or two bedrooms.
These are treehouses, sure, but they’re a heck of a lot swisher than your average rickety garden affair. TreeDwellers’ lodges have king-sized beds, freestanding bath tubs, Sonos sound-systems, wood-burning stoves and more. Here are a few more pics of them, in all their glory.
Pretty inviting, eh? All this is in the woodland of Cornbury Park in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, which is about two hours’ drive from London and Birmingham, and 90 minutes’ drive from Bristol.
Prices at TreeDwellers start from £220 per night for a one-bed and £305 for a two-bed. You can find out more and book on the official website here.
Time Out up the treehouse
TreeDwellers’s fancy pods aren’t the only UK treehouses can stay in – there are actually quite a few out there, and you can find the best ones on Time Out’s list of the best British treehouses. And here are the best forests in the UK, plus the best outdoorsy places to stay in the UK.
