The UK is a country of spectacular landscapes. From dramatic coasts and rolling hills to glittering cityscapes and pretty rural towns, you’re never far from some jaw-dropping scenery.
It takes serious skill to properly capture the UK’s landscapes on camera – and that’s why the Landscape Photographer of the Year awards are so exceptional. This year’s edition (the sixteenth) was as impressive as ever, with winners spread over categories ranging from ‘cityscapes’ and ‘coast’ to ‘bird’s eye view’.
The overall winner of LPOTY 2023 was Mik Dogherty, whose ‘After the Firer’ bagged the photographer a prize of £10,000. His shot will feature in an exhibition of winning and commended shots, which will premiere at London Paddington before heading on tour up and down the UK.
You can find out more about the winners here and the exhibition here but, in the meantime, below are a few of our favourite shots.
You can also buy a copy of a book filled with this year’s winners here.
