Wondering which UK destination will be the next big thing? Well, look no further than TripAdvisor’s Seasonal Travel Index, which has just revealed the country’s fastest-growing destinations for 2023.

By ‘fastest-growing’, we’re talking about the destinations that’ve seen the biggest year-on-year increase in interest. TripAdvisor’s data is based on its user stats, as well as the results of a survey of more than 2,000 British travellers.

The fastest-growing destination so far in 2023 is apparently Gosforth in Cumbria. A small village in the heart of the Lake District, Gosforth is known for being exceptionally close to Blengdale Forest and a load of great hiking routes.

Next up in TripAdvisor’s list is Ingoldmells, a coastal town near the classic resort spot of Skegness in Lincolnshire, and third is Borrowdale, a valley in the Lake District.

Here are the ten fastest-growing destinations in the UK right now, according to TripAdvisor:

  1. Gosforth, Cumbria
  2. Ingoldmells, Lincolnshire
  3. Borrowdale, Cumbria
  4. St Peter Port, Guernsey
  5. Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbria
  6. Seahouses, Northumberland
  7. Douglas, Isle of Man
  8. Keswick, Cumbria
  9. Bridlington, Yorkshire
  10. Skipton, North Yorkshire

Which should provide more than enough inspo for your next staycay. You can read TripAdvisor’s full report here – then check out the company’s ranking of the most popular UK destinations for spring 2023.
