Location is the most important thing to consider when choosing where to live. You could be handed a gorgeous mansion in the middle of the countryside, but if you’re a city-lover at heart it wouldn’t be worth the acres it’s built on.
It’s important to choose carefully where you want to settle down. You have to consider what you can afford, how close (or how far away) you want to be from your family, and how much you value having a supermarket within walking distance. There are plenty of lovely places to live across the country, but if you’re on the market for the best of the best, you might be in luck.
The Daily Mail, with the help of multiple estate agents and property specialists, has apparently discovered the absolute best streets to live on in the UK. The newspaper looked at multiple factors, like access to green space, average cost of a house, and local reports on happiness and contentedness to determine the country’s 30 most desirable streets.
Some, like Copse Hill in Wimbledon and the Royal Crescent in Bath, will come as no surprise. Known for their ideal locations within walking distance of transport links, parks, and shops, and for their sizeable properties, it’s easy to see why houses in these spots get their hefty price tags – the Wimbledon address in particular will set you back some £2.6 million.
But if you don’t have a spare million quid lying around, there’s no need to panic. The most affordable street on the list is the Main Street in Tobermory, which is on the small Scottish island Mull. For only £120,000 you could move to this idyllic waterside village, whose rainbow houses and overall good vibes actually inspired kids TV show Balamory.
