Our commitment to comedy is no joke. We at Time Out have been covering the best of stand-up comedy for decades – and now, we’re putting on a night of our own, together with Nando’s. Because who doesn’t want a side of PERi-salted chips with their jokes? The Extra Hot Comedy Club is a sizzling series of gigs in Nando’s restaurants across the country this spring, starting with Nando’s Great Portland Street in London on March 31.
Headliners include master satirist (and recent Time Out cover star) Munya Chawawa (London), Larry Dean (Birmingham), Chris Hall (Brighton) and Grace Campbell (Newcastle). But that’s not all: we’ve selected eight up-and-coming comics to perform at the gigs.
The competition was hot; entrants submitted videos via Instagram, and the final eight were chosen by a panel of judges which included Time Out editors, Nando’s representatives and the great Munya Chawawa himself. Two winning comedians will perform at each of the four gigs.
