Now that Halloween is behind us, it’s officially time to gear up for the most wonderful time of the year. But while many places in the UK go full-throttle with festive decorations and dazzling Christmas lights, people in other places aren’t so keen.

New research by spa voucher company SpaSeekers.com revealed that apparently not everyone is as in the mood for Christmas as you might think. They dug into Google search patterns for anything Christmas-related like present ideas, festive recipes and decorations to buy and cross-referenced that with a place’s population to find the least Christmassy places in the UK.

Crowned the least Christmassy town in the UK was… Luton. The city scored the lowest on the festive spirit score, making it home to the Grinchiest of souls in the country. Second place went to Bradford, followed by Southampton in third.

On the flip side, the city with the most festive spirit was Liverpool, with Liverpudlians searching the most for things Christmas-related like the city’s light shows and markets. Edinburgh followed Liverpool as second-most Christmassy, while Manchester came third.

Here are the least Chrismassy places in the UK, according to SpaSeekers.com.

  1. Luton
  2. Bradford
  3. Southampton
  4. Hull
  5. Derby

And here are the most Chrismassy ones.

  1. Liverpool
  2. Edinburgh
  3. Manchester
  4. Bristol
  5. Newcastle upon Tyne
