As snow hits parts of Britain for the first time this winter, you’re probably not thinking about the summer holidays. Sunny days feel pretty far away at the moment, but it’s always good to put something in the diary to help pull you through the cold and dark of December.
If you’re craving booking a holiday but don’t have much cash to throw around this time of year, we have good news for you. The AA’s official ‘Holiday Camp of the Year’ is in Cornwall, meaning it’s likely to get some great weather come May and June, and a night’s stay there is going for as little as £33 for a family of four. That’s value for money.
The park in question is Trevornick Holiday Park in Holywell Bay, which AA describes as having ‘excellent facilities and amenities’, and praises for providing ‘plenty of entertainment including a children's club and an evening cabaret, adding up to a full holiday experience for all the family’.
In terms of accommodation, at Trevornick you can choose from pre-pitched tents, static caravans, camping and touring facilities, luxury lodges, and cottages if you’re looking for a treat. It’s also equipped with a heated swimming pool, woodland adventure trails, two fishing lakes, two 18-hole golf courses, and, of course, mini golf.
Everything you need is nicely contained within the park, making it ideal for a relaxing break. According to the owner: ‘We have added more and more things to-do at Trevornick so you don’t even need to leave the park… This is why guests love it and return year after year.’
As for costs, they’re pretty low. A family of four can camp for £33 per night, and static caravans start at £92 per night, but sleep up to six people. Aside from all of that, the Cornish views are worth travelling for alone – these sandy beaches and coastal walks can really make you feel at one with nature.
If you fancy booking your stay, you can head over Trevornick’s website now, choose your fighter (style of accommodation), pop it in the calendar, and gaze at the booking anytime you think you can’t bear the winter weather any longer.
If you’re in the market for camping, the AA has also just crowned its best campsite in the UK for 2024.
