When it comes to air travel, it’s all too easy to get bogged down in negatives. Delays, lost baggage, uncomfortable seats, high prices… that sort of stuff. But airlines can be good, too. Planes can be comfortable and leave on time, staff can offer excellent customer service and prices can be surprisingly reasonable.
Earlier this week consumer experts at Which? revealed their pick for the UK’s worst airline of the year (find out all about that here), but in the same study the company revealed its choices for the best airlines, too. Which? used surveys to judge factors like cleanliness, comfort, food and drink offerings and value for money.
When it comes to short-haul offerings, Jet2 was named the best airline in Britain. With a blistering customer satisfaction score of 81 percent and just 0.5 percent of survey respondents reporting last-minute cancellations, Which? officially deemed Jet2 a ‘recommended’ provider.
Which? said about Jet2’s win:
‘Regularly rated the UK’s best airline by passengers in our survey, Jet2 has gone from strength to strength in recent years. Its five-star rating for customer service is exceptional for any airline, but especially one that's competing with easyJet and Ryanair on budget holiday routes. Passengers said the cabins were clean and well maintained and boarding was well organised.
‘People who fly with it rarely have problems – 80 percent said they had no problems at all – and when they do it’s usually sorted out with friendly efficiency.’
Also ranking well in Which?’s study were Icelandair and Norwegian, with the latter also getting revered ‘recommended provider’ status. You can read Which?’s full study of the best and worst airlines here.
