January 2025 has already brought us turbulent storms and heavy snow. But as the month comes to an end, some weather forecasters reckon there’s one final freezing flurry on the way.

WXCharts, which uses data from the Met Office, has predicted temperatures as low as -5C and snow hitting several parts of the UK. New maps from the forecaster show potential snow coming in tomorrow (January 30).

When will it snow in the UK this week?

WX Charts reckons some places could see snow from around 6am on Thursday, January 30.

Where will it snow?

According to WXChart, the places that could wake up to snow tomorrow are Bath, Birmingham, Bristol, Coventry, Exeter, Gloucester, Hereford, Manchester, Plymouth, Stoke-on-Trent, Wolverhampton, Worcester and Cardiff.

What are other forecasters saying?

Other forecasters aren’t so sure, though. BBC Weather says that while there will be icy temps, Thursday will actually see ‘plenty of sunshine’ across the country with just a few wintry showers in north Scotland and the Northern Isles.

The Met Office agrees, although it has put yellow ice warnings in place for Northern Ireland and the north of Scotland.

Chris Almond, its chief meteorologist, said: ‘Most areas will be dry with sunny spells on Thursday, although there’s the risk of some freezing fog patches at first. Cloud, outbreaks of rain and hill snow will spread to the northwest by the end of the day, and Friday will see a cloudy day in the south, with some sunshine further north, before the next band of cloud and rain arrives in the northwest later.’
