You wouldn’t know it from the weather, but it’s actually mid-July.
As much as we try to keep things positive over here in the UK, we have to admit that the weather has been less than perfect this summer. Save for a few sunny days here and there (depending on where in the country you are), it’s mostly been drizzly and cold and all around a bit rubbish.
But we are nothing if not persistent, and according to some long range forecasts, we could finally be in for some lovely warm weather over the next couple of weeks with the UK getting a ‘heat dome’.
Disclaimer: don’t get your hopes up too much. Long range forecasts are not always reliable, so there’s a chance this doesn’t happen. With that said, here’s what could be coming, weather-wise.
Temperatures could hit the 30Cs before the end of the week, some forecasters have predicted. They think that coastal areas in Dorset and Cornwall might be able to keep their cool for a little longer, whereas cities in the Midlands and north-west, like Birmingham, Liverpool, and Manchester, could see highs nearing 40C. Yep, 40C!

In Scotland, things won’t be quite so intense, but cities like Edinburgh and Dundee could enjoy warner weather, ranging between 20-25C.
Those in the know reckon this heatwave could hit as early as this Friday (July 12), and go on until mid-late next week.
As always make sure to check the most up to date forecasts when planning, but our fingers are all crossed we do finally manage to see the sun before 2025 – we’ve definitely earned it!
