London has long been a hub for private members’ clubs, from way back when those clubs were reserved only for loaded and high-society folks in snazzy top hats. And one of the most famous of descendants of those clubs is Soho House, which started in London’s West End but has since spread throughout both the UK and the rest of the world.
The next city to get a Soho House outpost? Well, that’d be none other than Glasgow, which will open in 2024 and mark the first edition of the members’ club in Scotland.
Soho House, for those not in-the-know, is a global network of members’ clubs. You can be a member of either an individual club or all of them, and they’re known for having lush spaces to dine, drink, gym and mingle.
Soho House Glasgow is apparently aiming to be a hub for ‘people involved in creative industries’ with loads of space across four floors. Also included in the plans is a really swanky roof terrace. It’ll take over the former Parish Halls building on George Street, overlooking Glasgow City Chambers.
Ahead of the opening, local creatives are encouraged to apply for the Cities Without Houses membership to join its existing community and get early access to events.
