Sick of superclubs? Disillusioned at the deterioration of city nightlife? Maybe it’s not just you getting old and boring. Maybe all you need is to rave in a remote, far away corner of the country. Well, you’re in luck! After an incredibly successful first series of parties, Scottish club night baile/baile is returning to the Highland fishing village of Ullapool

Co-founded by friends (and resident DJs) Sigi Whittle and Jemima Fasakin, baile/baile aims to promote new Scottish talent and celebrate the area’s rich music and dancing heritage. It’s deliberately run during winter, when Highland tourism plummets, and each night brings a mixture of internationally acclaimed artists and DJs hailing from the north of Scotland.

Whittle said: ‘Returning to Ullapool to host baile/baile over the last 12-months has reignited my love for my village and community in the north west Highlands. The reception and enthusiasm we have received from friends and neighbours is beyond anything we could have imagined, and we are so proud of everything it has achieved. Bring on 2024!’

Like last year, for its 2024/25 the club night will run across four dates at Ullapool’s The Ceilidh Place. The dates and DJ lineup are as follows:

  • 9th November - Tekhole and Lucky Dip + resident DJs
  • 14th December - Mackerel Sky and Sweet Philly + resident DJs
  • 8th February - Dansa and LWS + resident DJs
  • 8th March (venue tbc) - Sof Sof and DADs + resident DJs

Tickets for the first event are available to purchase right now over on Resident Advisor, starting from £12.
