‘New year, new me’ will be the mantra for many of us as we approach the beginning of 2023. And for some people, switching to a healthier lifestyle could actually come pretty easily – if they live in the right place, that is.
Handily, comparison website Compare the Market has figured out the areas in the UK where it’s easiest to stay healthy. They looked at the quality of green spaces, the number of ‘healthy’ restaurants and outdoor activities, and the number of online searches for gym memberships.
Based on these factors, it turns out that the fittest city in the country is Edinburgh, which has 105 ‘healthy’ restaurants, 60 outdoor activities and an excellent selection of green spaces, which scored 82 out of 100 for quality. Its residents also searched online for gym memberships the most: an average of 5,710 times per month in the last year.
Next up was London, which scored highly for its number of healthy restaurants and outdoor activities. Cambridge came third, scoring highly on the quality of its green spaces which garnered a score of 90.52 out of 100.
