When Taylor Swift comes to town, you know about it. Although Taylor is only doing one night in Cardiff, it’s going to be a huge event that will require you to have a detailed plan from leaving your house to getting back afterwards. Road closures around the arena mean that driving will be tricky, and public transport might be your best bet to avoid being left stranded in the early hours.

Cardiff’s Principality Stadium is very central, so if you’re able to get into the city you’ll be able to walk to the stadium. If you’re not able to walk to the stadium, or have specific accessibility requirements for entry, there are a small amount of reserved parking spots for blue badge holders. For more information check out this page on the venue’s website dedicated to disability access.

Here’s all the information you need to have the time of your life with Taylor at the Cardiff Eras tour.

How to get to Taylor Swift’s concert in Cardiff

Bus

Details on which exact bus to get and where are going to vary hugely from person to person, and additional services have been put on by the council that even locals may be unaware of.

You can find out which bus you should get here, and plan your journey here. Cardiff buses also recommend you download their app if you plan to travel by bus, as it will have the most up to date information available on it. It is free to download on the Apple app store and the Google Play store.

According to Moovit, these bus routes go near the Principality Stadium: 30, 52, 57, 58, 63, 94, 96, 13, 24, 25, 32, 61, 4, 92, 92B, 93, 93S, 7, 8, 9, C1, 44, 45, 49, 50, 27, 35, 136

Train

The stadium is almost literally a stone’s throw away from Cardiff Central train station, where you’ll arrive if you’re coming from pretty much anywhere further afield. If you’re coming by train you'll have about a three minute walk between getting off the train and entering the venue.

It’s also only a 15-minute walk from Cardiff Queen Street station, which might be where you get in if you’re coming from somewhere more local. Walking is the easiest way to get from either station to Principality Stadium, so if you are physically able to, officials advise you walk.

There will be pretty heavy queues after the show at both train stations. There’s no real way to ensure you beat these other than leaving the show early, either during ‘Mastermind’ or ‘Karma’, which are the two final songs Taylor performs.

Car

There is no dedicated car park for the stadium, but there is parking within the city of Cardiff. The stadium’s website recommends you ‘take advantage of the Park and Rides available on events days located at Leckwith’, but this is likely to sell out very soon, so make sure to book it now if you need to. Details about that, including exactly how to get to Leckwith, can be found here

Plus: The 100ml liquids rule has been re-introduced at 6 UK airports.
