For years, Primark fans have asked the clothing store to go online so they can, y’know, plan their shopping and order stuff in advance. And now – finally! – the retailer has given in.

And shoppers were clearly very excited indeed, as the store’s new website crashed soon after it went live. The online store launched today and allowed customers to browse and shop for kids’ clothing, toys and nursery items.

Once customers select their items online, they can choose their click-and-collect location from one of 25 Primark stores. Collection is available two days after purchase, with customers being required to spend at least £15.

The trial run, which includes items exclusively available online, is running in cities including Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool, Carlisle and Wrexham.

Of the website crash, a Primark spokesperson said: 'It’s been great to see so much interest in the launch of our new click-and-collect trial. We’re aware that some people have had issues accessing the website this morning and we’re working hard to address this to ensure that everyone can access and browse the site easily.’
