Last summer, to the anger and bitter disappointment of caffeine-dependents all over the UK, Pret got rid of the free coffees and cheap food included in its Club Pret subscription.

Until July 2024, Pret loyalists could pay £30 a month in exchange for up to five free hot or iced drinks a day and a 20 percent discount on food. But it was too good to be true. Pret axed that deal and announced it would be replacing it with a £5 monthly fee for 50 percent off up to five coffees a day instead (but no food discounts).

That monthly fee was set to rise to £10 at the end of this coming March, but now Pret has decided to keep the lower cost in place.

The coffee chain said its was committed to serving ‘high-quality, organic coffee and barista-made drinks at fantastic value’ and told Club Pret members that they would ‘continue to enjoy great savings on up to five barista-made drinks per day’.

Still not impressed by the Club Pret rebrand? The axing of Pret’s beloved original subscription prompted one Time Out writer to investigate the alternative ways Brits can claim complimentary coffees. You’re welcome.
