It was less than one year ago that Singapore Airline began operating flights between Singapore’s Changi Airport and London Gatwick Airport. For the past ten months, it’s been running routes between the two airports five times a week but now it has started running them on a daily basis.

The daily 13-hour flights began on March 31, taking off at 10.15am from Gatwick and landing the following day in Singapore at 6.20am. Return journeys depart at 11.55pm local time in Singapore and get back to the UK at 6.25pm.

Singapore Airlines isn’t just any airline. The luxe airline is frequently named one of the best in the world, thanks to decent legroom, good-looking cabins, great service and quality food. Singapore, for that matter, was named Time Out‘s 25th best city in the world for 2025.

Singapore’s national airline also operates four journeys a day from London Heathrow and five weekly from Manchester Airport. Singapore-bound travellers can also get book flights with Qantas or British Airways from Heathrow.

Jonathan Pollard, Gatwick’s chief commercial officer, said: ‘Singapore is one of a number of long-haul carriers looking to increase frequency and routes from London Gatwick, which is testament to the fantastic service we are able to provide our airline partners and their passengers.’

Taking flight in 2025

Loads more new flights are lined up for launch from the UK over the next year. Ryanair is launching new flights to three sunny European beach destinations, one tiny regional airport is getting new flights from the UK’s biggest regional airline and we rounded up all the new routes launching from Stansted Airport. Looking a little further ahead, there’s word that the world’s longest flight will launch from the UK in 2027
