Scottish jazz fans, rejoice! A brand new festival, imported straight from the southern capital, is coming your way, and you won’t have to wait very long for it either.

The Brick Lane Jazz Festival has been serving east London with the very best in home grown jazz and DJ acts for some time now, but it’s always stayed firmly rooted in its hometown – until now. This month the festival will host its first ever pop-up, and it’s heading all the way past the border to do it.

The event will take place in Glasgow’s Rum Shack, and is set to be ‘an unforgettable night of spiritual grooves and beautiful electronic beats.’ Sounds like a good time, if you ask us. Four artists will take to the Shack’s stage, including two eclectic jazz-artists and two DJ sets, all for just £12.50. That’s the sort of bargain you won’t often get down south.

On the bill are Ari Tsugi, whose sound mixes, ‘spiritual jazz, psychedelic rock, and Brazilian melodies,’ Azamiah, who will bring a ‘moody yet uplifting vibe’, Rebecca Vasmant, who’s responsible for bringing Brick Lane to her home turf, and OG mind behind the magic, Juju K. Each will bring something new, and hopefully different, to south Glasgow next week.

If you’re wondering how you can be there, fear not. All you have to do is buy a ticket, turn up at 7.30pm next Friday (October 11), and enjoy the vibes. You can grab buy a ticket here.

Hopefully this will just be the first of many inter-UK events for the Brick Lane aficionados. The organisers have already announced a second non-London date in Manchester which you can learn about here, so who knows how far they could go. Maybe one day soon no jazz-fan in Britain will be far from a night of great music.
