The lights are down. The bag of popcorn is in your lap. The screen in front of you is bordering on obnoxiously large. There’s nowhere else quite like the cinema, and soon three new lucky places in England will have a brand-new luxury picture house to try out.

Odeon’s Cinema de Luxe is a range of cinemas which allow guests to enjoy movies in a bit of luxury. The seats are comfier, bigger, and reclining, and you can even select a sofa if you’re feeling really bougie. There are already a few Odeon Luxes scattered across the country, and now they’re bringing the comfort to Peterborough, Norwich and Uxbridge.

Peterborough’s new movie theatre will span over 25,000sqft and be constructed from scratch, while Norwich and Uxbridge will be upgrades of existing locations.

As of right now, Odeon has just secured the property space, so we don’t know exactly when the new multiplexes will open. The expansion is part of a series of Odeon Luxe renovations happening across the country, so even if you aren’t lucky enough to get a brand new luxury cinema, your local movie hub may get some improvements of its own.

Congrats to those receiving brand new, bougie places to watch their favourite films. There’s loads of good stuff coming out soon, so it won’t be long before you have an excuse to put those reclining sofas to good use.
