Getting on the property ladder right now ain’t easy – and that’s putting it lightly. House prices across the country remain astronomic, even if the past year or so has seen them fall ever so slightly. But what if we said you could buy an entire home for just £30,000? And not just that: it’s also a delightful historic cottage overlooking rolling hills and gorgeous coast?
Well, that’s exactly what you have with a cottage called Bryn Tirion in Harlech, Wales. Set against a hill slope overlooking the picturesque Cardigan Bay and the Snowdonia mountain range, this 1841 cottage is Grade II-listed and looks like it’s jumped out of a children’s storybook. And it could cost just £30,000, a drop in the ocean compared to London’s average house price of £720,000.
Bryn Tirion is a gorgeous little hideaway, but it does come with a catch – namely that the interior needs a lot of work. And we really do mean a lot. At the mo, the property isn’t much more than a shelter and likely needs no less than a total makeover. The listing states that it has no bedrooms, no bathrooms and no receptions.
According to estate agents Tom Parry, the cottage is a ‘quaint, compact gem and a wonderful opportunity to be creative from a blank canvas’. So while Bryn Tirion is a bit bare, it’s also somewhere that an avid interior designer/decorator can carve out their own very, very small home.
Here are some pics of the place.
Bryn Tirion is going up for auction with a starting bid of £30,000. Fancy finding out more? You can do so on the Tom Parry website here.
