When you’re on the Isle of Skye, you’ve got to stay somewhere that fully shows off the spectacular surrounding natural landscape. After all, why go all that way just to sit in a stuffy hotel room? A nice big window with views out over either the sea or hills is a must.
If you’re planning a Skye trip and you’re after a place with a view, we’ve got just the thing. A rental has just gone up on Airbnb that sits in the village of Uig and is primed to make the most of the island’s natural beauty.
Called Tides, the rental boasts views out over Uig Bay, as well as the Ascrib Islands and Waternish Peninsula. And within that landscape is tonnes of wildlife: apparently it isn’t uncommon to spot seals and wading birds from the living room window. Each room is designed with massive windows to gawp out of.
But Tides isn’t just views. The house itself is pretty swish and ‘Grand Designs’-y, with loads of light and space. All on one floor, it has an enclosed garden and goes right up to the high-tide line. It’s got three en-suite bedrooms and room for up to six guests.
Here are a few more snaps of Tides.
This is all a two-minute walk from Uig ferry terminal and costs £400 per night. You can find out more on the official Airbnb listing here.
