If you’re lucky enough to be on the property ladder – and may even able to afford an actual house with stairs – there might be something missing from your list of requirements that will save you loads of time each morning. Yes, it’s a slide in your home.
A four-bedroom house has hit the market with a price tag of £900,000, and it has one major standout feature: a huge slide connecting the first and ground floors.

The home in Reydon, Suffolk, is a 15-minute walk from the beach and offers sea views. It has a huge, open-plan kitchen and dining room with bi-folding doors leading out to the garden. That would probably be the USP of any other property, but the most exciting feature of this particular home is definitely the gigantic metal slide that emerges through an archway in the hallway. Sure, this might be designed as ‘family’ home, but who’s to say that the slide isn’t for adults, too?

Durrants, the estate agents, wrote in an official listing on Rightmove: ‘To get back down to the ground floor, you can of course take the stairs. But why would you when the property benefits from its own slide to effortlessly return to the ground-floor level.’
Further down, it adds: ‘Great fun for kids of all ages.’
ICYMI: trains have returned to the UK’s highest railway for the first time in four years.
