Festival season is finally upon us, and as thousands of us descend on muddy fields across the country over the next few months, we’re going to need something to line our stomachs. After all, moshing is hungry work, but we all know that festival scran is not cheap.

However, this year, McDonald’s has come to the rescue. The fast food giant has promised to offer fries to festival-goers at some of the UK’s biggest music events – completely free of charge.

You’ll be able to get your hands on some from a McDonald’s van at Creamfields South in Chelmsford before it moves to Manchester’s Parklife from June 10, TRNSMT in Glasgow from July 7, Flackstock in Berkshire on July 24 and finally Leeds Festival from August 25 to 27.

The van will be restocked each day with up to 2,000 portions of the brand’s famous fries, and it’s first come first served, so you’ll have to get there quickly. There will also be some Maccies merch on sale to help you jazz up your fit, including glittery gold cowboy hats. Yee haw.

ICYMI: Free wi-fi on trains may soon be a thing of the past.

Plus: This tiny island museum has been named one of the UK’s top attractions.
