At the end of January Lloyds Banking Group revealed that it had decided to shut over 130 more high-street bank locations across the UK this year. The group, which includes not just Lloyds Bank but also Halifax and the Bank of Scotland, said the closures were due to customers’ habits shifting to digital banking.
And now those bank closures are getting underway. Next month 20 branches of Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland will shut, all closing their doors between March 3 and March 31.
Since June 2022, Lloyds Banking Group has shut over 500 branches across the UK, and 203 more will shut by 2026. Here’s the full list of the group’s banks closing in March.
