This is not a drill – after nine long years of making us wait, Rihanna has finally confirmed that there will be a new album. In a rare interview published this weekend, the singer said that she’s been back in the studio and that her new stuff is ‘not going to be anything that anybody expects’. The news has, of course, sent the internet into a frenzy and rumours of a potential Glastonbury slot have begun swirling.
According to the Telegraph, RiRi is planning a major residency at London’s Olympic Stadium around the same time as the festival. Sources have suggested that she’s lining up a string of six shows from July 8, shortly after the Glasto finale on June 29. Find out more about those London residency rumours here.
If the gossip is true (like those Beyoncé rumours), it would be Rihanna’s first time performing in the UK since 2016, when she came over for her Anti World Tour. Here’s everything we know at this stage.
Has Rihanna ever performed at Glastonbury?
Never. Despite being tipped to appear at the festival plenty of times, Rihanna has never played at Worthy Farm.

Who else is rumoured for Glastonbury 2025?
Other names tipped to perform at Worthy Farm this year include Olivia Rodrigo, Madonna, Sam Fender, Charli XCX, Green Day and AC/DC. There was speculation that Oasis would appear, but it’s now confirmed that they’ll be busy on their reunion tour instead.
Can you still buy Glastonbury 2025 tickets?
Nope. Tickets for Glastonbury 2025 are all sold out. However, if you registered ahead of tickets going on sale the first time round, you will get a second chance in spring when there’s a resale of any cancelled or returned tickets. An official date for the sale is yet to be confirmed.
