Let’s be honest: the 2020s have been a pretty disappointing decade thus far. If you’re in the market for some good old ’90s escapism, you’re in luck. Alt-rock legends Pearl Jam are heading back out on the road later this year in a massive world tour – and they’re coming to the UK.
And not only are the Jam returning to stages around the world: they’re also releasing a new album. Their twelfth album ‘Dark Matter’ will be released on April 19.
The Seattle group has confirmed two dates in the UK this summer. From ticket sale dates to venues, here’s all the info you need to be first in line to see the rock icons.
When is Pearl Jam going on their UK tour in 2024?
The band will play Manchester’s Co-Op Live on June 25, and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on June 29.
Eagle-eyed music fans will notice that their time in the UK conveniently coincides with a certain Worthy Farm festival, which this year will run between June 26-30. So it’s worth keeping an eye out for a potential appearance from the group when the Glastonbury line-up is finally revealed.
When do tickets go on sale for their Dark Matter World Tour?
Although no date has been confirmed for a general sale just yet, you do have to register as a ‘verified fan’ on Ticketmaster before midnight on February 18.
This is a process which Ticketmaster introduced last year in an effort to prevent bots and scalpers taking tickets from real fans, and it’s very easy to do. Just go to the Pearl Jam Ticketmaster site, click ‘register’ next to any dates you’d like to buy tickets for, and follow instructions from there.
What about presale?
Presale is only available to existing members of the ‘Ten Club’, the band’s fan subscription service. If you are not already a member then no dice, I’m afraid. If you are, you can find more info about how to register your interest here.
How much will tickets cost?
As the general sale hasn’t opened yet, we don’t know exactly how much a ticket is going to set you back. Some fans on the band’s community forum have suggested that Ten Club tickets are between £120 and £180, but we can’t confirm that General Sale tickets will be priced the same.
What’s been said about the tour so far?
Beyond a general excitement amongst fans, we don’t know too much about what the Dark Matter tour will look like yet. Richard Ashcroft, The Verve frontman, has been confirmed as the support for the London and Dublin dates, really hammering home the 90s nostalgia of it all, and Dublin rock group The Murder Capital will be supporting in Manchester.
The titular ‘Dark Matter’ lead single is out now, so have a listen and make sure you still like what Pearl Jam are making before dropping nearly £200 on a ticket. Happy listening!
Did you know that Birmingham is getting an entire museum dedicated to Ozzy Osbourne?
