Now would be a good time to check in on your indie friends – an iconic Mancunian supergroup is coming their way.

Not long after Liam Gallagher announced his ‘Definitely Maybe’ tour, celebrating 30 years of Oasis’s debut (sorry, no sign of Noel), the star has revealed that he’s been working on a collaborative record with none other than former Stone Roses guitarist John Squire.

The pair are among Manchester’s most legendary musical figures and have worked together in the past, performing live with each other and co-writing songs. But this time they’ve recorded an entire album together, out March 1. And, of course, it would be rude not to take it on tour. So, here’s what we know about the pair’s upcoming live shows.

When are Liam Gallagher and John Squire going on a UK tour in 2024?

After a lot of teasing and speculation, Gallagher and Squire are officially taking to UK stages together from March 13 to March 26, with a special guest appearance from Jake Bugg.

When do tickets go on sale?

General sale for the tour goes live this week! Be ready at 9:30am on Friday, February 2.

How can I register?

No need. Just be at your phone or laptop at 9:30am on the dot.

How much do tickets cost for Liam Gallagher and John Squire’s tour?

Alas, we won’t know until tickets officially go on sale. But if prices are similar to Gallagher’s ‘Definitely Maybe’ tour, they’ll start at around £50.

Is there any presale?

Absolutely, though if you haven’t already signed up for it, it’s now too late. The pre-sale went live today (January 31) and was accessible to those who had pre-ordered Gallagher and Squire’s upcoming album. In order to get presale, you had to pre-order the album before 3pm yesterday (Tuesday, January 30).

What UK dates have been confirmed for the tour?

So far, there are nine dates lined up, with Manchester and London being treated to two nights each. Despite their long list of combined music credentials, the duo are actually playing smaller venues than you might expect.

March 13: Glasgow Barrowland

March 14: Wolverhampton The Halls

March 16: Dublin 3Olympia

March 18: Newcastle O2 City Hall

March 20: Manchester O2 Apollo

March 21: Manchester O2 Apollo

March 23: Leeds O2 Academy

March 25: London O2 Kentish Town Forum

March 26: London Troxy

What has been said so far?

Not much has been said about the tour itself but we’ve heard some stuff about the record. Before anything had been confirmed about the collaboration, Liam said of the rumoured album: ‘It’s the best record since “Revolver”… I’m being humble it pisses all over it.’

Speaking of the first single, ‘Just Another Rainbow’, Squire said: ‘it’s about disappointment, and the sentiment is that you never get what you really want. But I don’t like to explain songs, I think that’s the privilege of the listener, it’s whatever you want it to be. To me, it’s also one of the most uplifting tracks we’ve made together, which is weird.’

Any details on their new album?

It’s due to be released on March 1, featuring the already-released singles ‘Just Another Rainbow’ and ‘Mars to Liverpool’. The artwork for the tour teases the names of the tracks, including ‘Make It Up As You Go Along’, ‘You’re Not the Only One’ and ‘I’m So Bored I Gotta Get Out’. Intriguing.
