Here’s the full list of The Works stores that are closing down

A slew of outlet closures by retailers in recent months (Boots, Wilko, Clinton Cards, to name a few) shows that many UK high-street chains are struggling to survive. Plenty of chains up and down the country have been forced to shut stores. And the latest victim? None other than art and craft supplies, books and stationery brand The Works.

Having closed two outlets earlier this year and relocated one, the retailer has confirmed that it is shutting another of its shops this week. Here is everything you need to know about The Works closures in the UK in 2023.

Which The Works stores have been confirmed for closing?

The retailer has announced that its Hitchin branch will cease operations this Friday (Aug 25), making a small dent in its 500+ empire across the UK.

Which stores have already closed?

Two The Works stores have already closed in recent months, and one relocated. They are:

  • Parkway Shopping Centre, Coulby Newham (Yorkshire)
  • Baytree Garden Centre, Weston (Lincolnshire)
  • The Mander Shopping Centre, Wolverhampton (relocated to Lower Mall of the shopping centre)
