If you’re a Tesco superstore superfan, you’ll likely be familiar with the coffee shop Harris + Hoole. The coffee chain is owned by Cafe Nero and has branches in over 30 of Tesco’s biggest stores.

But your big Christmas grocery shop may be your last chance to fuel up on caffeine from in-store Harris + Hooles. It has been revealed that 19 are due to close as the contract between the supermarket and Cafe Nero comes to an end, just before Christmas.

It’s not completely bad news, though. Harris + Hoole has said that it is taking the opportunity to open more standalone sites instead.

A spokesperson for the coffee shop said: ‘Harris + Hoole has a strong store opening and growth plan for 2023 and beyond, focused on standalone stores in locations which best appeal to our target customer market.

‘Following the conclusion of our existing agreement with Tesco, both parties have decided to pursue separate strategies. The first of our new stores has already opened, with several more in the pipeline.’
