With his dulcet tones and contrastingly chaotic sense of humour, Lewis Capaldi has carved out a name for himself as one of the UK’s more relatable pop stars. And now the Glasgow-born singer has proved yet again that he is a man of the people by announcing an intimate gig that is completely free of charge.

To mark the upcoming release of his second album ‘Broken By Desire to Be Heavenly Sent’, Capaldi will be hosting a low-key concert in his hometown at the Glasgow O2 Academy. Around 900 pairs of free tickets are available – here’s how you could get your hands on some.

When is Lewis Capaldi playing his exclusive Glasgow show?

He’ll be taking to the Glasgow O2 Academy stage on Wednesday, June 7.

How can I get free tickets to the Lewis Capaldi show?

Well, first, you have to be a Virgin Media broadband and O2 mobile customer as the tickets are only available through O2 Priority.

The prize draw can be entered here and is open until Monday, May 22. If you don’t manage to nab tickets the first time raound, you may still be in with a chance. You will be added to a waiting list and if the initial winners don’t claim their tickets by midnight on Monday, May 29, then the opportunity will be passed onto somebody else.

How do I access O2 Priority?

Importantly, you have to have an O2 number or a Virgin Media broadband account. You can either download the Priority app on your phone or go to the Priority section on the O2 website.

You’ll have to confirm your contact details and will be sent a code to be allowed access to the site. Now, you’re good to go!

How much are Lewis Capaldi tickets normally?

The star is currently on a world tour, with ticket prices ranging from £47.70 and £71.50.

Capaldi told his fans on Twitter that these were ‘the cheapest they could be’ in order to pay for things including the band and equipment, and that he wouldn’t ‘make any money at all’ himself.

What has been said about the show?

Lewis Capaldi said: ‘I'm very excited to be going back home to play at an intimate venue that’s so important to me. I really appreciate O2 for having me and making this show happen exclusively through Priority – I can’t wait to see some of you there!’

ICYMI: This is the UK’s best music venue, according to bands and artists.

Plus: ‘African plumes’ could bring several 35C heatwaves to the UK this summer.
