Here are all the areas that could be getting new Lidl stores

The supermarket wants to open 150 more outlets in the UK by the end of 2025

Lidl is on the hunt for new locations. After more than a million shoppers apparently switched to the discount store from other supermarkets in 2022, it’s set its ambitions high and revealed a long list of areas in the running to get new stores. 

Named the country’s fastest-growing supermarket, Lidl already has 950 sites across the UKbut it plans to expand to reach a whopping 1,100 by the end of 2025, creating 4,000 new jobs. It has opened 15 new branches since January and aims to eventually have a Lidl accessible to every British household. 

Though the list of potential areas for its new sites is eye-wateringly long, a much smaller number will actually be chosen. The prospective locations include high-street stores, standalone stores, and mixed-use and shopping-centre stores in England, Scotland and Wales. Got any ideas for specific locations? The supermarket will apparently offer a ‘finder’s fee’ for any successful suggestions.
