It’s almost time. In less than a month's time, fields across the country will begin to fill up with punters drinking pints out of plastic cups and filling up on £15 burgers, enjoying some good music in the (hopefully) sunny weather. Festival season is almost upon us, and the granddaddy of them all has some exciting news.

We’ve already kept you informed on Glastonbury’s exact dates and lineup, but if you were lucky enough to snag tickets for yourself you probably already know that info. What you might not know is that the festival has announced it will welcome two brand-new venues to the farm this year: the Wishing Well and Scissors.

The Wishing Well is described as ‘a place in which to ignite your deepest desires and unfurl your wildest wishes’. We don’t know any better than you do what exactly this means, but it sounds like a good time regardless.

Scissors, the other new ‘fun house’, has been branded as ‘an utterly delicious femme-queer venue’, which will host a pretty eclectic mix of events. At Scissors you’ll be able to watch talks, play pool, watch a film, or, by night, enjoy the nightclub where ‘kaleidoscopic walls will keep you dancing til dawn’.

It’s not all good news though. Sadly we’re only getting these brand new venues because we’re losing the iconic Rabbit Hole, which has been a staple of the festival for 17 years. As sad as this is, try not to mourn too hard. Every ending is a new beginning, and these new beginnings seem pretty interesting to say the least. Have fun exploring your brand new lands, Glastonburians!
