Over the years, Glastonbury’s mid-afternoon Sunday legends slot has welcomed plenty of true-to-the-name, well, legends. Dolly Parton, Tom Jones, Diana Ross, Lionel Richie and Kylie Minogue are just a few to grace the Pyramid in the past decade or so, with Shania Twain delivering the goods this year.

Today (November 26) Glasto has announced that Rod Stewart will be the ‘legend’ in 2025 – and no one can deny he fits the bill. Stewart is a pop rock icon with several defining, household-name hits, from ‘Sailing’ and ‘Maggie May’ to ‘Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?’.

Stewart will play the legends slot on Sunday June 29, and he’ll be the first act ever to have both headlined Glastonbury and played the slot. He last played Glasto back in 2002.

Glastonbury tickets went on sale the weekend before last, this year costing £373.50 plus a £5 booking fee. The booking process this year was slightly different, though the festival still sold out in under an hour.

Wondering who the other headliners of Glasto 2025 will be? Here’s our lowdown of all the rumours, from Olivia Rodrigo to Eminem.
