Coach trips may take longer than your average flight or train ride – but they’re (usually) a heck of a lot cheaper. Flixbus is one European company that has long ensured affordable travel for those of us on a budget, and now it’s offering even more low-cost journeys.
Launched on August 8, the travel-tech brand has begun offering connections from London and Birmingham to Dublin via a ferry from Holyhead. But that’s not all. For the first time, you can now hop on a Flix service once you arrive in the Republic Ireland!
The new services have been made possible thanks to a collab between FlixBus, Flightlink and Expressway, a premium coach service from Bus Éireann. As well as routes from the UK, they will offer 14 coach journeys within Ireland, with destinations including Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford and Dublin.
Tickets for coaches within Ireland start at 8.50 euros (£7.28) and journeys from the UK (including the ferry trip) begin at £50.63. You can also purchase Flightlink tickets from the Flix app or website for direct service between Dublin Airport and cities including Ennis, Killarney and Limerick.
Andrew Yates, Head of Expressway said: ‘Partnering with FlixBus is a very exciting project which enables us to promote tourism to Ireland to a global market, particularly bringing our brand to Europe through the Flix booking platform.’
