What’s a family holiday without a bit of healthy competition? Sure, it might lead to some bickering and a few minor fall outs, but that’s all part of the fun! So, will it be crazy golf, puzzle solving, table tennis, virtual cricket? No need to pick just one – a brand new addition to Butlin’s in Bognor Regis has all of that and more under one big roof.
PLAYXPERIENCE is spread over two floors and nearly 50,000 square feet. Inside you’ll find nine different experiences: hi-tech mini golf, space-themed escape rooms, a VR arcade, glow-in-the-dark ping pong, shuffleboard, laser tag, a batting cage for virtual tennis, baseball, cricket and lacrosse, an immersive games console and augmented reality darts. It’s been dubbed the first of its kind for any holiday park in the UK.
The centre apparently cost £15 million and has been five years in the making. It’s open to both Butlin’s guests and members of the public and includes a bar and cafe to keep you fuelled throughout hours of fun.
Jon Hendry Pickup, Butlin’s chief exec, said: ‘PLAYXPERIENCE was designed with something for everyone in mind – whether visiting with family, a partner or a group of friends on a Big Weekender. No matter what break you’re on, everyone loves a bit of friendly competition while having fun in the process!’.
