Good news, bargain hunters: Costco is expanding across the UK. The wholesale chain is on the hunt for new warehouse sites and, over the next two years, plans to add 14 more UK branches.
While plenty of UK chains are closing down at the moment (see a full list of high-street closures in 2023 here), that isn’t the case across the board. Both Poundland and Lidl have also both announced expansion across the UK in the near future.
Each new Costco site will apparently have at least 650 parking spaces (no less!), as well as petrol and electric vehicle stations. The proposed new outlets would take the total number of UK Costco stores from 29 to 44.
Although nothing is yet set in stone, here are the potential locations that might get new Costcos.

- Colchester
- Exeter
- Oxford
- Cambridge
- Maidstone
- Brighton
- Portsmouth
- Bournemouth / Poole
- Preston
- South Glasgow
- Southeast London
- Wolverhampton / northwest Birmingham
- Southwest Birmingham
