Which artist do you reckon has the UK’s most-streamed song of all time? Is it a homegrown talent like Ed Sheeran or a dulcet-toned American star like Justin Bieber or Billie Eilish?

To celebrate the 70th birthday of the UK’s Official Singles Chart, the organisation behind it has published a list of the country’s 200 most-streamed tracks.

To date, 132 singles have been streamed more than 200 million times in the UK, with one artist appearing four times in the top 15 (and only just missing out on the top spot).

So, the artist who has had the most streams in the UK? You might be thinking Ed Sheeran, but the singer’s smash hit ‘Shape of You’ took second place, coming second to – *drum roll* – Lewis Capaldi who took the crown with his viral ballad ‘Someone You Loved’.

The UK clearly loved Mr Capaldi as ‘Someone You Loved’ has racked up 561 million plays, made up of 480 million audio streams and 81 million video streams (that’s a lot of broken hearts).

And it’s not just contemporary music dominating the charts as cult classics such as The Killers’ ‘Mr Brightside’, some Mariah Carey classics and ‘Wonderwall’ by Oasis also made the list.

Our US and Canadian counterparts figure heavily too, with the likes of Drake, The Weeknd, Sia, Lady Gaga and Post Malone also ranking high on the list.

Here are the UK’s 20 most-streamed songs of all time:

1. ‘Someone You Loved’ – Lewis Capaldi

2. ‘Shape of You’ – Ed Sheeran

3. ‘Perfect’ – Ed Sheeran

4. ‘Shotgun’ – George Ezra

5. ‘Dance Monkey’ – Tones & I
