Pubs: a stronghold of the British way of life. No matter the weather, Britons flock to nearby boozers for a refreshing pint, two, three or more. It’s just our thing, y’know?

But which UK cities are the booziest? To find out, reduced-alcohol retailers DrinkWell carried out a survey of drinking habits across the country. The results showed four in every five Brits admitting they can’t go a day without having a drink, with ‘overboozing’ apparently growing problem.

The booziest city went to Bristol, with some 81 per cent of Bristolians saying they down a drink or two every single day. Second was London, with 75 per cent of people drinking daily in the capital’s large array of brilliant boozers. Manchester came in third, followed by Cardiff and Norwich.

Here is the list of the ten booziest cities in the UK, with the percentage of people drinking daily, according to DrinkWell.

  1. Bristol - 81 percent
  2. London - 75 percent
  3. Manchester - 74 percent
  4. Cardiff - 68 percent
  5. Norwich - 66 percent
