Easter is every chocolate obsessive’s dream. Supermarket shelves are chocka block with the sweet stuff, ready for you to gorge on to your heart’s content. And now, Cadbury has upped the ante. Chocolatiers in Bournville have crafted something that may send chocoholics into overdrive — a monster version of its Creme Egg.
The shiny chocolate shell and gooey fondant filling are both 100 percent the real deal and completely edible. The only bit that’s not true to life is the ripped yellow, red and purple foil at the bottom of the egg, which has been painted on.
Sadly, nobody will get a chance to take on the mammoth task of eating the egg.

The sculpture took over two and a half days to be brought to life. Dawn Jenks, chocolatier and one of the egg’s creators, said: ‘We challenged ourselves to create something unique and memorable this Easter, and what’s more iconic than a Creme Egg?
‘Replicating the much-loved Cadbury Creme Egg on an extra-large scale was an ambitious project, and it has been so rewarding to see the vision brought to life.’
How big is the Creme Egg?
The chocolatey behemoth is three feet tall. That’s around the same height as an emperor penguin. It weighs just over seven stone (45kg) – about the same as a newborn horse or an average 11-year-old boy.
Where can you see the giant Creme Egg?
You’ve got to travel to Bournville in Birmingham if you want to feast your eyes on the colossal creation. It’ll be on display in all its glory at Cadbury World’s chocolate-making zone from April 7 to April 27.
