We’ve been lucky with the weather for the past week or so. Aside from a menial thunderstorm or two, the UK has had glorious sunshine and warmth – but this won’t last forever.
We really hate to bring the mood down, but winter is not too far away. It’s going to be cold and wet again in only a few months time, but there’s no need to fear. If you’re looking to chase the sun come Christmas time, we’ve got just the news for you.
British Airways has announced that for the first time since pre-pandemic, it’ll be introducing flights from London to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. Both Malaysia and Thailand stay warm throughout the British winter, making them perfect options for escaping the misery at its peak.
Flights to Bangkok will depart from Gatwick three times a week from October. This could be a great option considering the fact that visa requirements just changed, meaning that British passport holders can enter Thailand without a visa for up to 60 days and actually increasing the strength of our passport, which you can learn about here. Alternatively, you’ll be able to choose between daily flights to Kuala Lumpur from Heathrow from November 10 onwards.
You can book your seat to Asia now from the British Airways website here. Enjoy your joyous, sunny holiday while we all make do with cold mince pies and soggy rain jackets – just make sure to think of us when you hop into your private pool.
To top it all off, Thailand has been actively trying to encourage tourism as of late, so you won’t be at risk of being squirted with any water guns while enjoying your dinner. There really are no downsides.
Eyes on the skies
There’s always more to say about British aviation. For instance, did you see that that the UK’s worst airline for customer service has been named? Or that this budget airline is launching 16 new routes from this a small UK airport? We’ve also kept you updated you on why the 100ml rule won’t be scrapped this year.
Did you see that a 1950s nuclear bunker in Cumbria is on sale for just £15,000?
Plus: This hotel has just been crowned the best in the UK for 2024.
