One quintessentially British thing that loads of us take pride in is this country’s marvellous pubs. Everyone has their favourite, whether it’s down to a cracking beer garden, plenty of craft drinks options, or just because it’s at the end of your road.

But the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) knows the UK’s most beautiful pubs better than most, and it’s just announced the 2024 winners of its prestigious Pub Design Awards.

Judged by a panel of experts in conservation and design, the awards aim to recognise the highest quality restoration of classic pubs from all over the country, and the Historic England Conservation Award this year has been given to The Vines in Liverpool

The Grade II-listed Edwardian boozer just underwent a huge refurbishment to undo years of neglect. Judges of the competition were particularly impressed with the quality of the refurb, and it does look like the place has been brought back to gleaming, ornate life. Here are some pics of its newly-restored look!
