The UK’s 2024 festival season is in full swing. Following huge fests like TRNSMT, Latitude, Truck, Lytham and Glastonbury, now it’s the turn of Boomtown. The Hampshire fest is known for its broad line-ups, secret stages and massive immersive sets – and this year it’s shaping up to be bigger and better than ever.

Boomtown 2024 will feature big sets by the likes of Pendulum, Damian ‘Jr Gong’ Marley, DJ EZ, Sherelle, Soft Play and Ross from Friends – though, as always, that’s just a fraction of the overall line-up. There will be 12 main stages, more than 50 hidden venues and thousands of actors.

Heading to Boomtown 2024? Here’s everything you need to know about the fest, from its location and tickets to the weather forecast.

Flooding and weather forecast

The weather is looking... just ok. Today (August 7) there’s a chance of rain this evening, with highs of 21C and lows of 14C.

Tomorrow (August 8) the forecast is looking a bit grimmer, with a substantial chance of rain from late morning through to the late evening. Temperatures will range from 13C to 20C.

Friday (August 9) may see rain in the early morning but will otherwise be clear, with sunny 23C highs in the afternoon.

Saturday (August 10) will see similar temperatures but be a little cloudier, while Sunday (August 11) will reach sunny highs of 26C – though it may rain later in the evening.

Check the up-to-date weather forecast on the BBC here.

As for flooding, last week there was reportedly flooding on the festival site. While the ground Boomtown takes place on is prone to flooding, it also drains quite quickly – rain in the festival’s early days should dry out by Saturday and Sunday.
