Last summer, Cardiff was given the privilege of hosting Billy Joel for his only European show of 2024, following the end of his 10-year residency at New York’s Madison Square Garden. British Billy fans were then given good news in October, as the legendary musician announced that he would be returning for two more exclusive UK shows in 2025.
This week, however, we’ve had less a fortunate update. Billy will be bringing his timeless tunes to Edinburgh and Liverpool – but not until June 2026. The original shows were supposed to be this coming June, but they’ve been postponed due to a ‘medical condition’.
Here’s everything you need to know about the rescheduled shows.

Following Billy’s Cardiff Principality Stadium performance, the Telegraph wrote: ‘He’s lasted this long because he is a seriously gifted singer-songwriter, who has become cooler and more revered with age.
