Ever fancied living the life of a Jane Austen heroine? Spending your days wearing long dresses, going for long walks in the countryside, and gossiping with your girlfriends about marriage sounds alright, if you ask us. Now, there’s a chance to do just that, as a brand-new Jane Austen immersive experience has been launched to celebrate Austen’s 250th birthday.
Exclusive Collection has announced new Jane Austen-themed getaways at The Manor House near Bath and Lainston House in Winchester to coincide with the Austen 250 celebrations. You won’t want to miss this, because these locations have even been named the world’s best place to visit in 2025 by the New York Times.
Included in Exclusive Collection’s Austen two-night staycation is a whistlestop tour of iconic Austen locations, and stays in five-star hotels in Castle Combe and Winchester.
Guests will spend the first night at The Manor House, a 17th century manor in the Cotswolds which is a 45 minute drive from Bath. After spending the day in the Bath, visiting the Jane Austen Centre, Austen heads will then head to Lainston House in Winchester for their second night. Here you’ll be able to visit Winchester Cathedral, where Austen is buried. Lainston House is also just 20 minutes from Chawton, where she wrote some of her most famous works, and 25 minutes from Steventon, where she was born.
